{"id":683,"date":"2008-10-24T16:53:10","date_gmt":"2008-10-24T23:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/keymasterproductions.com\/blog\/?p=683"},"modified":"2008-10-24T16:53:10","modified_gmt":"2008-10-24T23:53:10","slug":"the-knux","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/keymasterproductions.com\/blog\/2008\/10\/24\/the-knux\/","title":{"rendered":"The Knux"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I read an article titled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2008\/09\/14\/arts\/music\/14cara.html?scp=2&amp;sq=the%20knux&amp;st=cse\">The Mining of Hip-Hop\u2019s Golden Age<\/a> a few weeks back which gave me a good list of meta-rap groups like the Cool Kids, Pacific Division, the Knux, Kidz in the Hall and Plastic Little to discover.  For the past month, I&#8217;ve been checking them all out and in the process I&#8217;ve once again been amazed at how easy it is to use the Net to hear (maybe not &#8220;own&#8221; but hear) new music.<br \/>\nIf you&#8217;ve never heard the term meta-rap, these types of groups &#8220;make music that is a commentary on what came before it.  In hip-hop, which can be ruthlessly forward-looking, this is a novel development, and it has made for compelling and diverse music.&#8221;<br \/>\nOne song that has been stuck in my head for the last month is Cappuccino by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/theknux\">&#8220;The Knux.&#8221;<\/a> I dig it and I hope you do too.
